Sorry to bust in here, but I bought a 250 cc chain driven Chinese ATV two years ago from a company in or around Missouri. I have a picture of it taken last fall when it was working perfectly, but entering it through a URL is silly. Now, after a new carburetor and installation, it will not start. The ATV did not have a shutoff petcock from the gas tank, so I installed one. The ATV worked sporadically, revving up and down, but now it just drains gas from the tank, through the carburetor, unless I shut off the petcock. I'd like some info on the make and model.

I found the manufacturer (tag was on the front bumper). ZHEJIANGTAOTAO INDUSTRY CO. LTD. The Brand is a Taotao. Model (left blank) Date (left blank). I'll try locating a service manual.

oh mercy, this should be fairly cut and dried. pull your carb and clean it. the float/needle valve(seat) needs to be cleaned. it is hung open and releasing gasoline to the engine. you will also need to double check your crankcase oil for gasoline contamination. if you smell gasoline in your oil, change oil. when you pull the float bowl off, you'll see the float. look carefully where it attaches and you'll see a little bullet looking device. that's the needle valve. pull it out of the seat. use carb cleaner and a QTip to clean the seat and the needle valve. follow video to pull and clean jets. reinstall the parts. reinstall in quad and start it. get back with us. no need to apologize about hijacking a post. glad we can help.

Jaster94. My mechanic (85 yrs old) figured the same thing and he cleaned it out. Problem solved. While watching him work, a guy came in and we started talking about motorcycles. I have a 2003 Voyager 12. This guy said a fellow who lives 25 miles away just won a cycle race at age 105. How crazy is that? Thanks for your quick response!

Havent worked out how to use the garage yet, its winter here and we doing some riding, will definitely have 4 quads out there and possibly a 2 wheeler, its good time spent with my wife and kids, and her brother and his wife and kids. Nothing brings a family together more than mutually laughing at a child who has just come off a bike (of course after you check they are okay)
