yeah magnet is clean, the old stator worked fine for trigger, was just the charging from it, also taking old starter motor back, that thing got real hot cranking engine..i took it out and put it on car battery, it spun for like 10 seconds, then made weird noises and started to smell bad

 

yes magnet is what provides the magnetic field, and allows the magneto/stator to produce current

You did we following instructions, learning and problem solving....that's what mechanicals are like with these things, troubleshooting and trial and error....seems a passion may have been ignited

 

Thanks man , that means a lot to me cant wait to go ride my little atv , just got the brakes today and put it on , getting the fluid in the tube was a bit hard, now i just gotta wait for the battery . Oh and i also got the multimeter/voltmeter today , its nice to be able to test batteries now

 

I went over mine again today, got spark back by making sure connections were strong, ended up being a connector box, they weren't connecting in there.

Also backed off the pressure on the valves a bit, now its turning over with a bit more pzazz, will replace a few gaskets and fittings before the weekend and then go and run amuck with it
