Solenoid melted wire
#1
250 cc zenshong quad, have had a few battery issues so I got a new battery and starter motor, started fine when I first put battery in, after riding for a while it wouldn't start from battery and had to push start it, in the meantime it seems that the wire from battery to starter has melted through completely, is it possible that a solenoid can be draining power ??

hopefully the starter button didn't stick or the solenoid plates didn't stick and keep the starter cranking the entire time! either that or the resistance on that wire must be tremendous due to a grounding/short issue/wiring deficiency(inside of wire jacket insulation like broken strands of wire) or loose connections. what size fuse is on the positive side? hopefully, no bigger than 7 amps.

I am going to replace the whole loom, found a supplier here in australia that does the loom, cdi and regulator all for 100, main concern will be that the plugs from the stator/magneto are the same as new loom

one thing I am not sure on is another black box up the front, I see the regulator with fins on it, and it looks like 2 cdi boxes one on each side of the frame, any idea why there are two, or what the second one is ???
