Default Wiring from ignition switch(key)

My wiring from the ignition switch to quick connect are toast. The red and Red/black wire have crappy connection at quick connect.
There are 4 wires going from switch to quick connect
1. Red
2. Red/black
3. White/Blue
4. Black

White/blue and black are cut flush with quick connect and are not going anywhere. (Previous owner)
Red and Red/Black are in really bad shape, and going to and from ignition switch. Opposite side of quick connect is one red and one yellow.

My questions are these
1. Is there a way of eliminating the quick connect or "redneck modifying"?
2. Which wires go where?

Please note that my start button is not activated. The key is like a car. Start when key is turned.

Please help!

I would say wires on other side of quick connect are stuffed see if you can find wires that match from ignition somewhere is the harness near where the old quick connect was

Not sure i follow what you mean by stuffed? The one red wire from quick connect goes all the way back to the battery, and yellow goes to stater I think.

How do I test the switch itself with a meter? Please explain as condescending as you can. Which setting? What am I looking for?

Special thanks to Jasper94, vulgerwolf, and I think just about every post by Lynn - who by the way is a common denominator in most post for finding a solution!

Awesome work, that feeling when it finally roars to life, I am up early playing with mine, after replacing entire wiring harness cdi and regulator/rectifier yesterday...it seems the battery is charging, so I am looking to replace the stator now!!!

Yes - nothing can compare to that self satisfaction out of learning to do it yourself AND it works! But..... With that said there's also no shame in realizing when your beat! Take it to a mechanic or part it!!

Thanks again my new friend

I am still persevering the stator looks all neat and tidy on mine, but if the battery isn't getting charge and its a new reg/rectifier in the loom, then all things point to the stator...be so much easier if broken parts had a sticker appear when they break saying replace me!!!
