A few questions...
#1
Ok, so I have built a Frankenstein. I have a 2005 Kazuma Lacoste (?) 110 that I put the engine off of a 2006 ATV-109 on. Now searching online looking at the specs for a 2006 ATV-109, they claim to have a 90cc engine on them, but when you use the Chinese casting # decoder on here they say 110cc...Atleast mine does. I had planned on just robbing parts from the Kazuma and put it on the smaller SunL, but the wheels wouldn't fit, both are 3 lug, but the pattern is totally different.
The only mods done (so far) are of course the SunL 110. All engine parts are factory for the SunL engine, aside from the starter, CDI, and transmission side sprocket.
First ... Has anyone else flipped their intakes around 180 (facing the front of the quad instead of the rear)? The intake off the Kazuma engine was slightly taller, so I used the SunL intake, carb (KeiKhinkt), and short air cleaner. The specs I found online for the Kazuma quad was limited at 31.3 mph. I have an accurate speedometer app on my Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word and I was doing 46, I was in town, so I slowed down to almost a complete stop at intersections. I don't know if either rotating the intake 180 helped it achieve this speed, or if that spec off the net was wrong.
Second....I can only keep the quad idling if I have the choke fully closed. Then to get a scootin, I have to work both the throttle and the choke. I have used the thread on here to set the carb, and no matter how I try, I can only get it to work this way. Carb has been pulled apart and cleaned. I run 91 octane fuel, and octane boost
Third... How many "speeds" are in the ATV-109 transmission? the Kazuma had a 3 speed semi auto with reverse, mine has no shifter.
And last...has anyone used the Racing CDI and coil off of amazon? I'll post the link at the end of this so you can see what I'm talking about. It seems legit, and should improve my performance. I have an NGK spark plug I will put in after I order the CDI and Coil, but if its crap, I'll leave it alone. I don't have a manual to either the quad i used as parts or the Kazuma, so what is the gap to be set at? I also plan on upgrading to a 22mm carb, but I'm fond of the carb I have because I have manual choke, and from reading on here, most don't. Any other mod's I can get without breaking the bank? Will genuine Honda parts bolt to these engines like the Harbor Freight Predator engines?
Here is the coil link, the cdi is lower on the page, offered in a combo.

Side note - I raced a Yamaha 90cc dirtbike and blew him away, I also raced a 55cc motorcycle (chinese) that has a 4 speed manual trans, and smoked him by 1/2 a block, running at about 3/4 throttle.

sounds like you're ramming more air into it than it used to take thus giving a few more HPs. you're using a choke full time and feathering the throttle tells me your jets are plugging/clogging and need a cleaning. i know you said "i cleaned the carb", but did you pull the jets out and clean them? speeds on a CVT/automatic are limited to the sheave pulleys maximum output based on top end of engine's crankshaft, belt health, and sheave/pulley wear.
