Not charging - stator OK I think
#1
Hey Guys,
Great forum ! While this is my first post, you guys have helped me out a few times.
Normally if I search hard enough, the answers are there but this time Im stuck.
My problem is the battery will not hold charge. I don't THINK it is the stator as the ATV runs fine without a battery.
I tested the AC current from the stator and getting 18v to 20v on both the yellow and white lines.
Tested the DC voltage output from the rectifier and only gives me 6.8v .
I though awesome, easy fix. Purchased 2 x 4 pin rectifiers, tested both and still only getting 6.8v
Any ideas what could cause the output voltage to be so low?
ATV is a GY6 125cc
Thanks !

You should have a regulator, a voltage regulator. I don't know what kind of bike you have, but maybe it is the regulator. If the battery is not holding a charge, ( when you put it on a charger), then it is your battery that is bad.

yes a rectifier regulator is the same thing lol, im having troubles with mine now, i have read in a few forums if they go bad they will not keep the battery charge, i believe mine is bad, but still not sure as its blowing up my cdi boxes lol Its either a sivler in color box with fins on it, or a black one with fins on it with wires coming out of it alot of the times they put them near the battery.
