250cc zongshen atv - no spark
#12
Ya I did, what you have to do is splice the red wire coming out of the key ignition and wire in your negative wire to one side and your positive to the other, that will kill your ignition and shut the ATV off.

What a **** off. Forgot to cover it up last night and now no spark again. Or at least not enough to jump the spark plug gap. If I ground the spark plug close enough to the electrode I can get spark to jump to ground

The more i work on this think the more i think all the shops that worked on it just slapped things on it and called it good.. previous owner gave me a pile of receipts for all work done but its all poor workmanship.. Pretty sure this carb does not belong on this thing as the throttle cable is way to close to the tank.. Now i just found why i keep loosing the bead on the rear tire. Someone replaced the foot brake cable with a Rod off something it was rubbing on the tire and as soon as you tried to use it with any force it would pop the bead. For some reason instead of putting a new key in the stock location they drilled a new one in the fender above the cdi and left the original in place? Now when the top of the fender gets wet with rain or anything it drips down on the cdi and kills the ignition.. Going to extend the wires and put it back with the battery
