I would still use the oring. For a $1 at any parts store it's better safe than sorry. The Rtv is just extra protection

Actually I was wondering that same question about using the o ring too. Actually I may have figured out the problem, not sure yet, cuz I have to get a new spacer. When I tightened the spacer between the carb and the intake, it cracked. I am assuming this spacer is suppose to be more flexible than hard like hard plastic. So I am thinking this spacer may have been cracked all along leading to a huge vacuum leak. Ill update you after I find a new gasket.

Why do they use this spacer anyhow, why not just a gasket between the two?

Now I heard these things are basically Chinese Honda motors, could I possibly get this gasket from a Honda dealer you think?

Romeo, I just got my atv idling real good..the spacer is black and hard plastic on mine. What I did was like Zrock stated, I used the sealant with the rubber O ring. no paper gasket used. Then I waited 30 minutes...depends on the sealant to set.

You could probably get the part at your local dealer. When I order parts I give them the name brand part # I'm looking for.
You could do a temp fix on your cracked plastic using a plastic epoxy. It's a 2 part mix and works great. It's made by prematex. The spacer is their so the fuel and air have a chance to mix before entering the cyl.
