Default Coolster 3050c Project

Ok so I picked up a little coolster 3050c for a cool $30 bucks. Its missing the key ignition switch and the plastics and it needs a set of tires. I got it to fire up and it runs perfect. Tires should be here tomorrow. I tried to post a picture but I dont think I have posted her enough...LOL

My question is when I hook up a battery and I hit the start button nothing happens, but if I jump the solenoid it fires right up. Do you think its a bad solenoid? Im horrible with electrical any help is much appreciated.

Could be the solenoid or the switch. On one of my machines I just went out and got a waterproof push button starter switch 30 amp and just wired it to both sides of the solenoid. I could have just removed it all together but it works well

I guess for less than $50 bucks I can replace the key switch, the handle bar switch, and solenoid.

Thanks for the quick reply. Ill let you guys know how it turns out and Ill post pictures of the finished atv. I have a Tao Tao 110 that has been great. It runs perfect and my son rides it almost everyday in the yard.

you can just go to the automotive store and get a normal automotive solenoid and just cut the wires off your old one and swap it out. When i fixed this one i had a little one standing beside me waiting very impatiently. When i put the new body on it this winter ill probably diag it and fix properly. Or just take the solenoid out all together since the push button switch has more than enough to hold the amps going through it.

These are fun machines for the kids and seem to take a good beating.. I have less than 300 in this one and that's including the new body and lights i just bought for it. Its more reliable that my neighbors brand new can-am 90 they just bought. His has been broken and in the shop more than he got to ride it this year. The funny part s my little one is way harder on her machine than he is..hehe

I might try that. I got my tires, I just need plastics, seat and solenoid.
