Default Coolster and TaoTao for Kids

Within the past two weeks purchased a 110cc Coolster (8050-B) and a 150cc TaoTao (ATA150-G). Coolster seems a little better quality and runs sewing machine smooth. TaoTao certainly looks the part but had two small assembly issues (dealer not factory) that took all but 15 mins to figure out.

The TaoTao runs very well but rode like a hay wagon. The shocks unfortunately are way too stiff on the front end so I needed to come up with a solution.

Picked up a pair of 400mm RFY (15 3/4") black and gold shocks (the ones that look like fox knock offs). Anyway installed those on the front and the difference is amazing. Turn-ins are now crisp and the ride improved to the point where actually enjoyable. took 5 mins to install.. probably replace the single rear once I find something that fits. The 400mm fit the front PERFECTLY !!!

Wasn't sure if the kids would take too these so didn't want to spend $$$ on polaris / honda / can am nor go the used route and deal with someone elses issues. However given the way they seem to be holding up I really don't see a need to upgrade anytime soon.

Kids have run two tanks of gas out of both (easily 20 hours) and I had one loose bolt to fix on a headlight bracket.

Very happy with my purchase; kids are loving it and I'm looking forward to knowing where they are and what they are doing.... something that is sometimes missed as a benefit to kids and atvs.

I had great luck with the 110 purchase I made, I bought 5 Tao Tao's to get dealer pricing the 2 125's were eeehhh the 150 ran for an hour blew the cdi and a wheel bearing. The 250 has been nightmareish now the trans gears are skipping @ the output shaft under a load. The 110 was actually a great little machine I bought my son the tao tao 110H and it lasted him 2 seasons with no reeal issues. When he got big enough I bought him a Polaris 200 pheonix this year but the little chinese quad did it's job. I would buy a 110 no problem but I wouldn't buy anything bigger.
