Default Baja 90 with a 110cc loncin won't start.

I got the quad for free as the po snapped the sprocket shaft off, it sat for quite a few years. I had a spare motor(110cc loncin) that I was given a different quad for parts and was unsure if it worked. So what I did was sit the motor in and connected the 5 wires up and got spark and it would start to run on starting fluid. So I ordered a starter as I was turning it over by the crank and a drill. I made motor mounts and got it all back in and now I can't get it to catch, every now and then it catches for a sec but that's all. I was using the stock baja 90 carb and I figured that there might be a prob with it(I have cleaned it) so I took my new carb off the 110cc mini hummer that's I know works and I still get nothing. I have spark and the compression is good as it blows my finger off. I also got a question about the 1 wire starter. When I press the starter button the solenoid buzzes and it doesn't jump across the posts with a screwdriver. Thanks for the help.

Got the starter part figured out and it was a low battery, even with the charger on it still wouldn't work.

Did some reading and since it's now dark out I went to see if the spark is grounding out. I couldn't see anything whit the boot installed so I pulled it and hit the starter and layed the boot on the head and I can see multiple sparks all over the boot, I take it that means I need a new one?

was that with or without a spark plug? For the price of a new boot replace it and one less thing to worry about

Yeah that was without a spark plug. I held just the boot against the head and rotated it as I held the starter and the Sparks were coming from all over the boot.

i changed out the coil and boot for a spare, put a new plug in and it still won't catch. I even squirted fuel in the carb and seen it run out the exhaust.(I haven't put on the exhaust pipe till i know the engine works.

Did you take the flywheel off when you fitted the new starter, the key can slip out when you re-fit the flywheel and alter the ignition timing. If that is OK, I would try to get an accurate compression test. At least 90psi or it will be bad to start. If you can't get a compression tester, check valve clearances, if they are tight you may have found the problem.
