Default Wiring problems

I have a02 Polaris engine and transmission I'm putting on a dune buggy. I got the engine from a friend and he had already taken it off the 250 2stroke trailblazer frame and i also have the wiring harness. Can anyone help me with the simplest way to wire it just so it runs I'll worry about lights later. Thanks

The simplest is to refit the existing loom to your engine. May look messy, and switches will probably be miles from where you want them, but it should work.

Default Wiring problems

The problem is I did not unhook the harness from the original four wheeler so I don't know where things hook up.there are a lot of spade fittings on the ends of the wires that were on a board in front of the gas tank.thats where I'm having the problem.if I had the board I could probably fix it. I just need to know what wires I need to hook up to make it fire and charge. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

All you need to crank it up is the stator wires hooked to the cdi,the blue/white wire from the cdi to the coil and the ignition switch hooked up.Then you can start it with the pull starter. This is an old magneto triggered ignition system and the battery is just for the starter and lights. Since you want it to charge you'll need the regulator and battery. Easiest way is this 5 buck manual with the wiring schematic.2002 Polaris Trail Blazer 250 Service Manual PDF Download

I may have been wrong about the year model of the 250 Polaris the engine came off of. I found a date on the clutch that says 01 05 96 also the stator wires are y y/r br br/w w and black/red 6wires total the black and red br/w and white plug straight into the CdI and comes out black and yellow to the coil. It also has a solid black wire coming out of the CdI . Is the ignition you describe the same.thanks again

Kill wire from the cdi is solid black. All yellows go to the regulator.Wire from the cdi to the coil can be black/white or black /yellow on some year models.Later model coil wires were blue/white. You just have an earlier model engine then.
