125CC Valve Clearance
#1
Does anyone know the Valve Clearance for intake and exhaust on a 125cc (120cm) QIYE 3 speed semi auto with reverse chinese atv engine? I'm trying to adjust them do to hard cold starts

The tolerance is fairly wide and you won't find any difference with altering it by a though of an inch. However, 0.002" (0.05mm) is small, less than that risks the valves not closing properly with temperature differences, but trebble that will only result in noisy valve gear, rather than a noticeable performance difference.

So you recommend 0.05mm over 0.04mm? I know the china 110's are clones of honda 110's but for the china 125 other than different gearing the engines are exactly the same but idk if a one speed which i believe are locked in 2nd gear vs 3 speed make an affect on how the valves would fire in certain gears
i believe i just found a 120cm 3 speed which has valves set to be intake/exhaust at 0.03mm(in)/0.05mm(ex) does that sound correct?

As I wrote above, valve clearance isn't that critical as long as there is some. 0.05mm isn't much and I wouldn't be setting valves to any less. If you had a little Yamaha 80 or 90, you would soon find all clearance gone (because of wear) and the bike refusing to start as it has no compression due to the valves being open all the time.

Yeah I'm aware of that it's just a new engine so I don't want to make them to loose or to tight and wear them out faster than needed as of now I just turn my idle up on cold starts to get it to idle till warm but everywhere I look says 99.9% of hondas or chinese aka honda clone 110's and up run good set at 0.03 and 0.04
and by 0.03 i mean using feeler gauge just to clarify
