Default chinese quad 90cc

if I can take a booster pack right to the starter itself and get it cranking is it safe to say the starter is ok?

I've been attempting to get this quad to start using the starter button and I get nothing out of that switch I ordered a new one and same thing.. so I assume something isn't be satisfied but I can't figure out what as IT once worked and now it don't nothing was changed from then till now...

there is no key we had to bypass that

I'm not totally sure what a "booster pack" is, but yes, if your starter motor turns at normal speed when you apply voltage to it then your starter is OK.

Please explain how you "bypassed" the key. There are usually four wires here. How did you connect those four wires?

Since this 'bypass' is permenantly wired up, how are you keeping the battery from going dead when the quad isn't running?

Most start circuits involve a safety interlock that keeps the start button from working unless the brakes are applied. If you apply the brakes (to satisfy the safety interlock) does the brake light illuminate?

OK im a fan of the K.I.S.S. method so dont be insulted by my questions it's just that i'm not there to know firsthand so I try many angles.
1) did Lynn's test work?
2) You said you used a booster box on the starter is the battery dead on the quad?
3) If battery is good does shorting the two large posts on the silinoid crank the engine? Expect sparks because is quite a bit of current here, and make double sure is in neutral before trying this cause if starter and battery are good the bike should crank and will have no safety switches at all)
4) Answer Lynn's question on how you wired around the key you could have left off a wire putting power to the button
5) Does anything electronic work? If not check your ground.
