Blaster with reverse!?
#1
I have been trying to decide between getting a Trailblazer and a Blaster. So far I have been leaning more towards the Blaster side. I love how easy it is to find mods for it. The only two things with it are, I am a little unsure of its trail wothiness, and the reverse. Does anyone out there know a mod for reverse. If there is one I am no doubt getting a blaster. Also can you tell me about your trail riding experiences with it. Thanks.

Blaster reverse= get off and push! I dont know of any manual transmission 2 strokes that have ever come with a reverse but I could be wrong. It wouldnt be a difficult mod to engineer but it would be bulky as an external system. The machining would be expensive I'm sure. If reverse is that important to you I'd consider a used 250X or other cost competitive machine.

I had a trailblazer, in my signature you can see a URL for pictures and more details.
i had it done up with a RCR kit. It would wheelie, beat blasters in a race(piped), and it was a hell of a trail machine.
I loved it, but i started getting more into the sport rides. I started jumping(i bent my swingarm on a jump that i got about 6 feet of air)
If i was JUST going to do trail riding i would get the Trailblazer. Smoother on trails, good ground clearance, a little more power, and a better hill climber.
With the blaster, you have to be good with the clutch to keep the power up, lower ground clearance, in it's stock form not the best hill climber not that it won't take them it wants to come back(i am adding a +4 swingarm soon)
My total comparision of them.
blaster: you get a better all around machine, if you want to race, jump, and ride trails you have it made. I've missed my reverse a few times!
Blazer, if you want to ride trails, and cruise around it's the best for that. Plus REVERSE!
My trail riding expereince? The blaster goes every where my trailblazer did. But in some cases easier, and some cases harder(espically where ground clearance is needed)
Look hard at what you want it to do! Then test ride both. And make a decision.
