8 of us are set to take off for Wild Bills Campground in Deadwood SD on June 13. We are riding for the week but have had not a lot of luck on where the best places are to ride. I do have the Black Hills FOrest trail map but want some first hand knowledge. I emailed the dealers out there and got nothin'! Dealers in my area are always open to helping out ATV'ers.
ANyway any info would be great! THanks!

hay java Ive been to Wild Bills twice before. You couldent have picked a better spot to go. There is literaly thousands of miles of riding right out of camp. The first year I went we had troubles finding all the trails, so we loded up most of the days and hauled them to location. Last year we just rode right out of camp. We rode an average of 100+ miles a day. Several 12 hour days. Talk to the owner of wild bills and get a snowmobile trail map from him. It will give you lots of good ideas. From camp we made it all the way to Wyoming and back to Sturgis with out ever having to load up. My best freind just got back last weekendfrom there. I wanted to go but im sticking to much money into remodeling and othere projects this year. If you want I can give directions to trails right in the camp ground area and others up in the Spearfish Canion area. PM me and I'll give ya my number.

..stay on the "Numbers" trails...many none number trails go through private property,... and you will be chased down..large packs of atv's get neighbors pissed, from all the dust/noise...my niighbor up the hill put a steel forest gate and lock on it..that was a nice trail.... get the $7.00 map so you dont go into the "restricted" areas..accidently or not..there is a fine for it...sooner or later, just like anywhere else. a few jerks get the trails closed for everyone else...just a matter of time..some buttheads were driving down terry peak ski hill two weekends ago...that went well with the neighbors and owners...big lug tires will be banned sooner or later also. a few people just "shread up" the forest roads...the road to welcome area gold mine used to always be open...they closed it now..enjoy it while you can...

I just came back from riding in the Black Hills in May. All most all of the loggin roads are open to ATV travel and there is a small section of the Centenial Trail out there that is open to ATVs. There is also a big riding area just east of Rapid City on hwy 44. Just take hwy 44 east from Rapid City to Farmingdale and then you will find a gravel road that goes south about 3 or 4 miles and you can't miss it. If you go north from hwy 44 you will end up back at I-90. The riding are is in the Buffalo Gap National Grass Lands and there are thousands of acres to ride, all hills and some really steep. Dirt bikes have lots of fun out there too.

Java how was your trip? Did you get lost? I wish i could have gone this year but maby next.
Mnturbopaws, Where do you get a map that shows restricted areas. The last few times we were out there all we had was a gravel road map and general snowmobile map. We just stayed out of areas marked as private property and where there was closed gates.
