I am going to be in San Diego mid-july for a week or so. I would like to at least go take a peek at glamis. I understand that it is probably to hot to ride this time of year. Is that true? If not does anyone rent ATVs in the area?

There is a place in Brawley that rents, but I bet they are closed for the season (sorry, don't have a phone #). Go into www.accuweather.com and get the forecast for Brawley. Click the hourly forecast. Hottest part of the day is 4:00pm, and coolest is 4:00am. You MIGHT be able to ride real early in the morning.

If you are serious about dunes while you are out here, head for Pismo. Lots of rentals there, and it never gets that hot!! I am guessing a 5 hr drive up the coast from San Diego???
