Help!!! I have a new RANCHER ES 4x4 with 190 miles on it and have one recurring problem. Some times when I'm on a relatively steep hill nose aiming down I have a very difficult time keeping the bike running....when it stalls I have a very difficult time getting it started until it reaches flat ground.......
I don't know if float (in the carb) is adjustable or not.....my dealer said that he had one other customer with the same exact complaint.....
I am curious if anyone else has had this problem?????

p.s. I have run premium gasoline(92 octane) in it since new.......my dealer says that Honda's run better on the crappiest gas available (86-87 octane).....is there any truth to this????

Nope, sorry man. I have the S 4X4, but I doubt having the ES would make any difference, although it could I guess.

I've had ES 4x4 on some long steep inclines and had no problem with it dying. I have about the same miles on it.(223 mi.)Take it in.

It is better to run the 87 octane gas. Carbs are tuned to a certain gas rating. When you put higher octane gas in it and it is not tuned for it, it can cause problems and will NOT increase performance.

No problem with it stalling. There are 224 miles on my machine.

Have the dealer check the carb, it sounds like a float problem.
