I read (on another site) that Yamaha will make available a kickstart kit from GYT-R that replaces the electric start-- and saves 30 pounds! That gives it a dry weight of about 320lbs!!! OMG!!!

I think I would leave the starter on too. I don't see how the starter weighs 30 pounds. the one on the raptor doesn't feel that heavy

Wow, I just found out about this quad! If you could drop 30lbs with a kick starter then you are in the same league as the old 250R and Quadracer. Sweet!!!!!

I saw that kickstarter and it is cool, it makes it feel more sportier.

 

I got the new Yamaha brochure last night, and they are showing GYT-R head pipes and mufflers in titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber, a 13-1 (wow) forged piston, and wider axle & long travel A-arms for the YFZ. Oh and aluminum nerfs.

 

I think Yamaha took all the money they saved by not doing right by the 01 Raptor drivers whos tranys graneded and stuck it into R&D for the YFZ450. If you ask me, they should give a 450 to all the guys who had to replace their Raptor tranys and call it even.

 

If you lose the battery will the headlights work? I guess it wouldn't matter to some.

 

Is there a kickstart option for the Raptor?
