Default Buying my first ATV, which would be better for me ...

I have been eyeing the Honda 250EX and the 300EX which fall into my budget. I think most of my riding will be trails but I still want it to be able to handle anything I throw at it, I am also 6ft, about 180-185 lbs. I would also like to know if the 300EX is worth the extra $900 dollars, and what is a good price I can use to haggle with for either of these baby's.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Considering your size and budget, I'd try to find a slightly used 400EX. My first quad was a 250EX and I was wanting more power and suspension after the first month. Good luck!

I agree. You're probably too big for the 250. I'd go with the 300 between the two.
One thing to consider on the 400 is no reverse, which can be tough for trail riding.

Yeah I figure that's going to happen to me, the only thing is I was planning on financing it to help me establish better credit, I already qualified with Honda so now its a matter of determining what will suit my needs and whats the best bang for the buck.
Thanks for your responce.

What would be a good starting price I can throw at the Dealer for the 300EX?

Abernathyonline.com has the 300 out the door for $3950.00. That's the lowest
I've seen.

Wow that is cheap, Thanks so much for your help. I'll print that out, and take it to the dealer and see what he can do for me.

Thanks again.

yeah I am thinking about buying a 400ex from there for $4500 when dealers nearby want less than $6000.
