Default 250r trinity porting

I am considering having trinity racing bore and hone my stock 87' R and do a stage 4 MX port job on it. I am not sure if I want their pipe though as I have seen some dyno tests showing sparks MX pipe to be the best low end pipe you can buy. Any advice would be appreciated. I have never sent a motor off to be ported before so I dont know who is the best or worst. I know their are differing opinions on this but I still want to hear it all.

RU- why did he not send a drag motor to a drag shoot out??

Montgob- there are better choices out there. I would do some searching before i ship it out. You are the one writing the check so get what you want. Trinity inflates there dyno reading. On the 4stroke side the claim 63 for 686 raptor. I got 44

From what I understand there was some confusion on what to send in and I know FTZ sent 3 in that blew. APX held and was compeditive. I have the same porting as the tested cylinder and it is fast and strong. I have been racing for 14 years and have rode everybodies motor and none work like the APX cylinder.

TC out of Pennsylvania (Tom Collins) does a great job of porting. He was named engine builder of the year at one point. I happend to buy the R we have now and it had one of his jugs on it. Ran a 5.34 in 300ft on a stock cylinder and could be driven around with no problem. The looks of the cylinder were also very impressive.

i also have a APX MX cylinder and it pulls awesome! i have taken 450s, 426's, 330s out of the hole and have pulled them on straights. i run a sparks tt pipe with my cylinder and it is an awesome combo!

If you read it was not a drag shoot out. That was only the means in which they tested the cyl. to see wear the engines came to life. I like the Idea that I can have a cyl. built for MX and still do some drag racing with it. But I don't think I want a drag cyl. and try to MX-it. I have talked to Scott he Owns Atomic racing he told me that he would also build me a back up cyl. for half price once I get One done at regular price.
I have to wait about 3 weeks to get my money rite and I am sending my stuff to him.
And you should have seen one of his motors run at the Elizabeth City TT Nat. they were running a 295 in the Open pro am. and had a 40-50 sec lead over the 2nd place guy I think that was Mike Walsh... that thing was impressive. I think you can reach him through that that was mentioned ET performance or catch him at the trak If I finde his number I will post it. later T8rs
