I recall a few of you wondering if anyone makes a steering dampener for the new DS. Well wait no further! Check it out for yourselves...

How much does it cost, will it work on the DS650, is it available today?

Well I'm assuming it's designed for the DS considering that's the only bike they picture in their ad on the webpage. I've seen dampeners for other bikes and they range from $100-150 So I'd imagine it's near there.

However, I sent them an email asking for availability, price, etc.

I also plan on calling them as soon as they open. I'll keep you posted.

Here is the down low on the steering dampener for the DS. It isn’t available yet, but there is one they just have to run tests on it. The guy that I talked to say that it should be available in a week or so. As for price it is $185 a little high but it is fully rebuildable and adjustable. He also said that they are in the process of building nerf bars and skids for the DS also.

DSAholic beat me to it, but the dampener is going to cost $189 and be available in 1-2 weeks. Also it is completely rebuildable and all CNC machined.

The person I spoke with told me 2-4 weeks for skid plates and nerf bars.

Have any of you guys tried to change the grips? Whats up with those freaken notches? Ya it is a good way to keep the stock grips on but replacing them is a pain in the but. I don't like the stock grips and they are wearing out really fast. It seams to me that in order to change the grips the handle bar needs to be replaced. I put grips on the stock bar they work but the end is messed up because of the notches. Anyone relace there bar yet? I see that scoobyDFW has the same idea so let me khow what you come up with. I think that i am going to look for a bar this weekend. Any suggestions?

I didn't even notice the notches really until Scooby mentioned them in another post. But I do believe the bar is going to pose a problem with replacing grips. Is it me or does the DS stock bar look thicker than a normal one?

I only have 5 to 6 hrs on my bike and the grips are fine for me. I'm far from picky. I think I'll try contacting Bombardier regarding aftermarket grips. I'll let you know.

I put oary grips on my DS, the grips work well but the ends seam like they will where out faster than normal due to the notches in the bar. I talked to rocky mountain ATV yesterday and they said that there is no specific bar out for the DS yet but there is a renthal bar coming out in a few weeks. Most any bar out there will work but there is no bar to match the stock bend yet. I like scoobyDFW would aslo like to find a bar that is easier to reach from farther back on the seat. I let you know what i find out this weekend when i go to look at the bars. later

As I mentioned in another post, the DS grips look exactly to those on Bombardier's jet ski's.
