Default Help with SP600, Fast!

O.K. here is the problem.....my dad took his 03' SP600 out this last weekend on a ride (it only has 250 miles on it) and he said that he noticed the smell of gas really bad. He said that he can't see it leaking anywhere and can't find any loose fittings. My first thought was that maybe it was an elevation/jetting issue, but he said that it has happened once before at about 9,000 feet and this time at about 6,000 feet. He said he notices it more while climbing. Any help with what this might be or what I could check would be appreciated.

Thanks

sounds like his float is either sticking or the drain **** on the bottom of the carb is slightly open.
I would bet on the float thought due to it not happening all the time.

Is there anyway to check this? How do you get to the float on the carb? Does anyone have a picture of the carberator to locate this stuff?

Check the bottom side of the gas tank. I know of 2 600's and 1 700 which had leaky fitting at the bottom of the gas tank.

Has anyone else experienced a problem like this one? Am I the only one?
