Stalling 700
#1
I just got a 700 sp and I LOVE it, it is by far the best bike for the type riding that I do. I just wish I would have got it instead of that ol cat I bought first...
Anyway, I have had this happen many times and have noticed another 700sp and a 400sp and a 400 Big Bear all do this and was wondering what is happening, thought yall could help.
If I get into a mudhole especially a really wet one, the thing stalls coughs sputters, ect. If I get off of it for a few seconds, it will go but not for long, it starts to stall again... my buddies and I think that it is steam, I have talked to other people, and they say it could be some electrical thing. As soon as I am out of the hole, the thing runs normal like nothing happened. What do yall' think.
I am not in anything that is very deep, most often the mudhole is at the worst, about ankle deep at the floorboards. I have been through stuff much deeper and not had any problems.
Also, it seems like if I can keep going forward with a lot of momentum, it won't stall, if i get slowed down, it seems like that is when it happens. Also I had this problem with my cat, and it seemed that if it was cooler out, it was not a problem, only when it is fairly hot out... Wierd to me, Any help would be appreciated.

That very well could be a steam issue. I would also recommend tucking the carb vent lines up inside the frame to keep them from hitting the mud, water, etc. When they do drag, they can cause a vapor lock problem.
