I bought my quad on new years eve in 1999, When we started it up at the dealers it sounded way different than my buddy Stockers 99 300EX, we looked at the stock muffler and the exhaust opening was much larger than Stockers. There was no spark arrester which was pretty sweet. the sound was way different and way sweeter. I was just wondering if your 250X's came with spark arrestors or not?

It has an internal baffle(or spark arrestor) I just took mine off to replace it with a cobra jet. Went from barely audible to extremely loud. But I like it. The baffle is removeable bye taking out two screws and then grinding off the two spot welds where the baffle meets the rest of the muffler. If you see some ginding marks and two holes yours has been removed. 91 250x Cobra Jet, Shredders rear and Fast Trekker fronts.

I bought my 250X stock, and the spark arrestor is still in it. I am planning on putting a cobra exhuast on it, what does everybody esle think?
