Default big bear front end question

I have a 2000 big bear 4x4
I am replacing the bearings and have been unable to remove the knuckle without much success - I have removed the tie rod, nut and cotter pin - I have removed the other two nuts and cotter pins from the knuckle - top and bottom - (this is at the end of the A Arms) - then removed both cir-clips from the tops of the joint -
it should be easy to remove them - but they wont budge - I have tried liquid wrench - I have tried a little heat - I have beat the crap outta them, but nothing.
These are the joints that hold the knuckle to the a arm - a little rubber boot is there - is there another nut that I have missed? What am I doing wrong?
BTW - I am hitting the joints from the bottom (where the nut and cotter pin is)
Is it possible I need to drive them down from the top?

Any help is appreciated

Gary C
