lerTire Question on my scrambler 400
#1
Yes i have a question which tires and what size should i use on my 1995 scramber 400 4x4 i will be 100% trail ridein and muddin'. And also where is a good place to order tires from?.
A friend of mine has Outlaw 25's on the back of his 1999 scrambler 4x4 and 25 mud bugs on the front , its bad but i think them tires are way to big for the bike , my 400 blow his 500 off the road, i have a 102 hours on my 1995 and i have the factory tires, with 60% tread, its is in the shop right now, getting fixed its has been sitting up for 2 years,as you can tell i ride very very often but i'm gonna get back into it.. so if anyone has any advice to what tires and tires size i need reply please, i will be on for a while tonight. thanks alot

i would get the itp mudlites from www.rockymountainatv.com or you can look at them at www.itptires.com. i have heard nothing but good things about these tires. go with the stock tire size which is 22x11x10

I agree with the Mudlites, but check Dennis Kirk, they have great prices and FREE shipping

I have titan 489X/T's and love them. They are a great all around 6-ply tire. It would be best to keep the stock tire size, otherwise you can cause damage to your drivetrain if you go too big. You need to keep the same ratio between the front and back otherwise it will mess up the 4wd. I don't know if they changed it over the years, but mine are 23x7x10 on the front and 22x11x10 on the rear. I got mine through Rocky MT ATV and got a great price. But if Dennis Kirk has free shipping then that would be the way to go cuz the shipping was expensive on mine.

I have mudlites on my 02 Scrambler and I drag race with them and I cannot keep the thing from hooking hard. Wheelie out of the hole every time - not a bad thing unless I jump the lights hehe. I like them on mine and they are lighter than the 489s by far and the steering seemed to improve.
