Default Air box lid does not fit

My new 700 is the same, I get the cover to fit takes time and effort then as soon as I ride the right bulges out. Looks like crap and is one of the few things I don't like about my new ride. Most everything else is great. I also lost one of the screws that hold the black plastic on during my second ride. Fit and finish on the plastic parts could be better. Hopefully someone has figured out a way to get this to fit better.

Yup, sure do have the same problem....I've been gonna add some small clips to the RH side, to hold that cover down in place, but just haven't got to it yet. As for the fender flare mounting bolts, that's also very common.....the local dealer here has ordered in a few of them, for that very reason. I lost one myself, then went over the entire bike....it's amazing how many of them were loose..but haven't had a problem since...give her the once over and ya should be fine.

piski; What type of clips are you planning on using. I will be doing something but when I was in the hardware store I couldn't figure out how to make anything I saw work without drilling holes in the plastic. Any info would be good this is the kind of thing that can drive me crazy. Anyone who has fixed theirs photo or explainations of how you did it please.

Bringing this one back up, it's been awhile does anyone have a solution for this yet. I fight mine and get it on so it looks right and isn't popping up on the side but as soon as I quit the right side near the shift lever pops up just enough to really bug me.
