I saw a post a while back about a skid plate for the boot that connects to the rear differential. I've checked with the dealer and all they have is an alum. rear differential skid plate. Anyone know of a part # or where this skid plate can be ordered?? As you can see on the Kodiak, the boot is the only exposed area under the machine.

I have made one for my y2k and made one for my friends y2k. I takes me about three hours but when its done it can take a massive hit. Yes it's something you must have. Don't leave home without it.

I'm going to attempt to make my own out of a piece of truck bedliner. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Yamaha says that is not a valid part # and that it isn't coming up on their computer. Any suggestions?

I bought my Kodiak Y2K in Quebec, and got the rear boot skid plate at the same time. The P/N was YA ATV5GH40BG00 and it cost $36.95 Canadian. I don't know if it's available in the states, but you can get it from Gagne/Lessard Sports at Tel. (819)849-4849. Ask to speak to Ivan he'll help you out.
