Scooby, How the hell did you crack the cylinder? I have never heard of anyone doing that yet.

no i wasn't over-torquing. for some reason, the head must not of been 100% flat against the cylinder, so when tightening the 8mm bolt (under the carb area) the outer casting of the cylinder cracked.

You could probably have it rewelded.

scooby , what are cracked threads? Did the thread boss crack? I know what stretched threads and stripped threads are but not cracked threads. Would you have the option of going to 10mm in the cracked thread or is it too far gone?

the second cylinder with the cracked 8mm thread already has an 8mm insert. it is the aluminum surface that the insert is in that has 2 hairline cracks from the hole out to the edge of wall. this probably can be grinded, rewelded, re-surfaced and re-tapped (O-ring would need to be removed and put back in), not by just anyone though.

I know that FORCEFED had a "slightly egg-shaped" one for sale a few months ago.

I haven't seen him on here for a while but i'll bet MrHP knows how to contact him.
