I want to know from what I tell you what, you think is the best clutch set up. I have a totaly stock 2000 Sportsman 500. I dont do a lot of top end. But it only does 48 mph now, doesnt that suck. But that doesnt bother me. What I want is good low end, good belt grab. But I have to have LOW low range for plowing. Should I clutch kit it, change springs if so what color? I have to do something I want power and holeshot. Is that to much to ask?

Thanks

Man.. my cousins SP500 will run 60 pretty easy, you might have a bad belt or it might just need tuned up.

I have had my sp600 at the dealer for almost 2 weeks for the same problem, would'nt go over 45. what the found was a loose
plastic retaining nut on the drive clutch, as one of the readers here told me, it is for the ebs. I am going to pick it up tommorrow so
I will find out for sure if it is fixed. Good luck!

There's no doubt a clutch kit would help. For a utility quad, a heelclicker would work well. You get low engagement, and a better grab on the belt. I have on on mine and it works as advertised.
