Default The down side of the DS650 for MX?

Hey.

What would you say are the down sides of the DS650 when it comes to MX?
too heavy? too tall? too long? too wide?
anything else?

Please name everything you can.

Thanks
Rob

I would say to heavy. I don't MX, but I do think it would be very dificult to throw that beast around in the air.

The DS is a very bad choice for MX. There are much better quads for MX. You can ride the DS but you will be much faster and something else!

The width and length are ok, it's just too heavy and it does have a high seating position better suited for desert racing. You could do it but I think you would be at a disadvantage to some of the smaller bikes.

A friend of mine is a pro level rider for a large dealership near me. He said that the DS' are not very competitive from what he has seen. He currently rides the new YFZ. I was joking with him the other day when we were at a friends MX track and told him to ride a Freightliner i.e. DS. He said sure. It was amazing to see what a real rider could do with a quad that most consider to much for track use. When he finally got off of my baby he was very impressed. Besides making me feel very happy it kind of shocked me. He said that it had lots of power and the suspension was very forgiving. That is stuff that we all know, but he said that you just have to trust the quad and go for broke. If you just give it everything it won't bite back like most smaller quads will. The other big advantage for a new rider is the torque. You can worry more about riding and less about clutching and shifting. That is just his two cents worth. I hope this helps and just go have fun with your DS and show them baby quads how to ride
