After a while of wanting to get a Sportsman, I am thinking of a Scrambler. I mean, all I really needed out of the Sportsman was the 4wd. The Scrambler has this and SPEED. So what do you guys think of these quads? Should I go with the 400 or 500. (I don't like to mix gas) Will there be any changes to the 2001 Scramblers? Just curious

They are both awesome. The 400 has more hop up options, but the 500 is a 4 stroke. Which if you try to sell it it will go faster. allot of people are afraid of two strokes. At least around here.

you'll definatly get the best of both worlds with either of these machines. The 400 is a tad bit faster than its big brother, and will except more poneys with upgrades. But in my opinion nothing beats that mean bark, and the reliabity the 500 has to offer.Stay away from older front chain drive models, many problems have been noted.---00 500sc---

I think i have finally decided on a scrambler, but there are even a few of these to pick, i am leaning toword the 400, if i get it ported and a clutch kit and a new pipe for it will i be able to keep up with my buddies, they ride stuff like 400ex's banshees and that stuff. I could get one of them but i want 4wd, i would like to be able to keep up with them, i dont need to be able to smoke them, but i wouldnt feel bad if i did

i think that the 4 wheel drive makes the scrambler slow. the best would be to get a honda 400ex for the most speed and great handling

yah, you'll never see me on a 400ex.
All the 400ex is good for is straight line drag'ng and maybe light trial riding, there is NO REVERSE. I'll be D@nmed if i'm gonna get off and push my quad backwards over tree stumps and ETC
