Cam sprocket bolt ?
#1
Would there be any adverse effects to putting locktite on the sprocket bolt. I know web cam says on their site that the bolts are only to be used once and that is why they send a new bolt with all of thier cams. I would hate to have the cam sprocket fall off while riding and finish off the engine before I get a chance to.

that is odd, if you look at the web cam site there is a link that says "please read" where they tell you what I just said.

For the Raptor, Hotcams tells you to use blue Loctite on the cam sprocket bolts. I would assume that the same would be OK for your quad. If you want an extra measure of caution, use the red Loctite, but good luck getting the bolts off again!

I would re-read what your manual says. I doubt you get to 20 before you snap the ear of the cam in half or break the bolt.
Even if you misread it and it was 60 Nm, that is still around 40 ft lbs..which is way too much.
It should be around ~14 ft lbs or 20 Nm.

ooops you were right it is 43 ft lbs. Thanks for catching that. I was sweating tonight when I bolted the head on because the book said to torque it down to 29 ft lbs.. I got to 26 and decided to count my blessings. Some of them just felt like they were going to break loose at any moment.
