i'm a fan of honda's past machines and i believe they are the best engineered vehicles on the planet, but a tweaked 400EX with a CRF450 motor in it....


IS AN INSULT.

Yamaha showed their cards first, the ball was in Honda's court to come out and build a quad version of the CRF450R, as close to a full-on factory bike as you can get. an aluminum or chromoly frame... an entirely new machine bred to be the new industry leader as the 250R was in it's day. Instead they fall way short of the hype and bring shame to the honda name.

in the eighties, suzuki made the quadracer and Honda made the 250R and it was much better.

in the nineties, Honda came out with the 400EX, then Bomb built the DS650. Yamaha one-up'd them both with the 660R Raptor.

oh well, as long as honda buys enough ads in dirtwheels, they'll sell every 450R they can make...

can someone say mommy and daddy didn't teach this man right and wrong. im 13 and i know way better than to just bash a brand like that. no one knows what its gonna be like so shut up and wait for the quad to actually be on sale. then you can see how it compares to the yfz. matt

i really think that this pic isn't of a real 450R. You can tell me that i'm in denial, but i honestly think that someone just made this pick in photoshop, like a lot of others are saying. I don't think that honda would be that stupid to go and release something that couldn't beat or at least be competative with the new yamaha. I f this does turn out to be the 450R, i'm gonna go on an anti-honda protest and tell eveybody to boycott all honda products...

Ok so i wouldn't go that far but i would still be really PO'ed. IMO, honda has something more up their sleeve and we won't really know what it is till they reveal it themselves

Hey suzuki riders, are you disapointed yet that all suzukis suck a**. Seriously, you come here and cut down Hondas, I'd like to see any machine that can have the same power as the 450r stock, and stay running as long.

If you don't like what I've said, too bad! If someone wants to bash Honda, at the Honda forum of all places, this is what they'll hear!

 

actually, i'm starting to see what Honda's doing here... this machine is going to be cheap, they're making something in between the Z400 and YFZ. they're making the cheapest product they can that can still perform with the YFZ. that's cool I guess. now they can take on two markets instead of one. it's straight economics, man. greedy honda.

 

NEWS FLASH!!! In case you haven't noticed. Doug Gust just won the pro-production title on a very fast Suzuki.

Ive been hearing this and that, its a remolded 400EX, ita a completely new quad, lets see what they really did unless you KNOW the facts.

On another thread, they says its got a detuned CRF engine.... they took the same rout Suzuki did with their Z... not very cool. I think the Yami will smoke it...
