everyone relax...anything new is good. remember, this is a business and honda needed to answer. they did. if this thing is priced right...it still could be my next quad.

 

Yamaha's engine is also detuned.Its possible to make it just like the bike's engine but it doesn't come that way.It will be the same with the new Honda.

 

First off Id like to say im not saying anything bad about honda they make a great product but I really see alot of bs here. Well honda is going to come out with a new bike we all know that its going to be great, but look im going to lay down true facts I also work for a dealership that carries all 4 hon, suz, kaw, and yama. here it is the yamaha 426 ia a more powerful motor that hondas 450 is. yamahas 450 is alot stonger than hondas is lets turn the table yamahas chasis such as the raptor boy on a mx track you cant keep the bike from wheeling and it cant corner for poo. now look at suzuki hey hondas 250 vs suzukis boy that is a no brainer we wont go there, but the z yes its not what you want to here but is a better machine all day than the 400 ex the frame is made by the same developer and is almost a carbon copy of the hondas so nobody can say that stock to stock the 400ex is a better handler or faster because hey they are not(again not bashing honda, I had a 400ex for a couple years). now is honda going to make a machine that handles better than yamaha all fingers point to most defanatally. Is it going to be as fast probally not buy are the trails straight? i thought not so unless its a drag race I think you know im saying its all going to come down to handeling and rider just like on the race track Im faster than my friend on his yfz450 and im on a suzuki does that mean my suzuki is faster nope it means im just a faster rider have i been smoked by a 450 yep sure has happend, but you all need to realize all the companies are making great machines and it all comes down to rider. the honda for the record hondabestOnearth the hondas crf450 motor in the maouel recomends a tear down at 20 hrs and states that is burns oil so it cant be run for long periods of time just to put you back in place try talking facts on this board your making honda look bad and they are a great company. but hey im riding yellow.

cant be above 440 to stay class legal for the 400 class but in the dirt bike racing they can run 450 ccs so they have to detune the motor to to 439 to stay in the 400 class. in the mx class regulations and that is what the bikes are designed for mx racing if you cant stay in the calss waht is point of making the bike?

 

I know the limit is 440cc, I should have cleared that one up. When they said it was detuned, I assumed they put milder cams, ignition, ect. like Suzuki did. Sorry...

 

well they yfz people keep thinking that its a wr motor it not the cam is the same that is in the yzf motor but its retarded 1 tooth all kinds of people think that they need a new cam just advence it 1 tooth and it makes a word of differance. A guy at the track showed me this I dont own one but its good to know... I did not know the suzuki motor was detuned I thought for 03 all the bikes and atv moters were the same., but you learn something new everyday. I bet my z will go alot better when the motor can keep up with the chasis meaning I hve full suspension but nothing except a ct pipe and gearing and tires(18s).

 

Yeah, the DRZ 400 has an FCR on it... they really made a mistake there... I guess they wanted the Z to be a nice step into the sport quad world, they did a good job, but it really lacks in certain areas, UI love mine, but Ive also opened my eyes and KNOW its not the best out there, I know its flaws. The other thing I have on mine that has anything to do with power is a 13t front sprocket and 2 inch smaller Razrs (stock is 22 inches right?).

 

I'm goin nutts, do we know for sure the new bike has a kick start only?? Do we know anything for sure?
