Four wheel drive problems
#1
I currently own an 2001 scrambler 500 4x4, and my front left wheel doesn't engage. I replace the whole clutch assembly in there which was like 100 bucks, and if that didn't **** me off enough it than later still don't work. The shaft running into the hub spins fine but the wheel still isn't engaging, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help

1) Be sure the magnet is becoming 'magnetized' when the ignition is on, the tranny is in gear, and the 4wd switch is on.
2) if the magnet works, try the armature plate, costs only a buck or two, and is the #1 wear item in the hub. Be careful to align the 3 tabs in the roller cage before assembly of the hub, or it will warp, and then the hub won't lock.

Just as Farmr123 said "Be sure the magnet is becoming 'magnetized' when the ignition is on, the tranny is in gear, and the 4wd switch is on." The power goes from the AWD switch through to gray wire which splits and feeds the AWD lite to ground and the AWD coils to ground ( brown wire) If you look at the terminal board. the coil wires are normally the very small guage wires near the base off the board.
