I just got my Bomb back today with the Alba Stage 3 pipe. what a diffrence it made. it has improved every where. I can even Wheelie with sheer power. Before I could barely lift it up. Wow!!! Alba makes a great pipe.

Beware the rust which could form on Alba's pipes after 6-12 months. I have a friend with a Raptor, 6 months after the pipe was installed, specs of rust started showing up. You might ask if they've improved the pipe since 2001, seems all it would take is a better coating.

i have an older alba system on my ds. i love the system but it is pretty well rusted all over. this winter i am sending it to jet-hot and the told me they can sand it and coat it. it should help the performance a little bit and also make it look a lot nicer. when i have it done i will post pictures.

Burnie,
Unless Alba has changed the company in which they use for the Ceramic Coatings since 2001 or when saint650 bought his Alba pipe then I don't personally know of anything you can do to aviod it. I've heard good things about Jet-Hot & they also responded with tons of information when I inquired about getting the headers for my DS' Cetamic Coated by them. I assume standard maintenance would help though I don't know if it will prevent it completely. I'm pretty sure if you ask IronRod, he could tell you what 'standard maintenance' is for a ceramic pipe. That or Alba themselves etc.
Saint650, when you contacted Jet Hot for the first time did they send you out a short video & booklet etc about ceramic coating? They sent me one & I was pretty impressed with their response as well. If I decide to go with the coating, I'm probably going with them.

yes they did send me all that. i was pretty impressed with that. i did have one bad experience with them. we have a 35 fountain with twin 900sc motors that we sent the headers to jet hot to be coated. the headers had water jackets on the inside of them. when they sandblasted them they blew holes in the water jackets, so when we reassembled the engines and ran them. they filled the cylinders with water and hydrolocked the motots. not really what you want on 2 new fresh 900sc motors. after fighting with them for a while they did refund our money for the coating but would do nothing about the 8000 doallar a set headers. so 16,000 down the tubes. granted there are no water jackets on four wheeler exhaust, so i will send my exhaust to them thinking it would be pretty hard to screw them up.
