Scram 400 vs. Sportsman 500
#1
Ok, heres the deal...
My buddy talks a lot of smack and I am hoping to put him in his place. He has a 2001 Sportsman 500 HO that is completely stock. I have ridden it and it was loads of fun but not the fastest thing out there (obviously).
I recently purchased a 2002 Scrambler 400 4x4 that is piped and has a few other mods. I like to think this thing is pretty fast, at least it seems like it is to me.
This weekend we are supposed to go riding and if we do I am certain we will race. Will I Walk on this guy or what? Will it be close? I am talking about dragging from a standstill.
I know this is petty but...
Thanks!

i am pretty sure that the scrambler would win in the race because that sportsman probably weight more than the scrambler.. i think you have a good chance at winning. plus you have to know how to ride in the sand good too

My '03 Scrambler 500 is stage 2 modded and my buddy's '03 Trailblazer 400 is stock and he beats me. We are even on top end, but he gets out about 30 yards in front and we stay that way. With any mods you will smoke a Sportman.

I raced my buddies Sportsman 500 with my 03 scrammy 500 and it was no contest. The scrammy easily outran the sportsman. Both are stock now but my scrammy's mods are in the mail. Your 400 wins easily, without a doubt.

I've got a scrammy 400 2x4 stock, and have raced my both 500 and 600 sportsmans of my buddies. the scrammy easily beats them, only close the first 5 to 10 yards when they're in 4x4 cause they grab more and i sit there and spin (on dirt road). you shouldn't have any problem
