Both me and my brother-in-law have '00 Recons. This quad is a really good quad all around except going through water. Both of them die and seem to drown out when hitting really shallow water with any speed. I can't figure it out because the snorkel is way up high by the gas tank. I don'y see any water in the air box. It will take forever to get them started and even longer before they will stay started. Could it be something else getting wet? Again we're not talking any deep water. Just enough to splash.
thanks

I just read about this in one of the Quad mags. You need to put some silicon sealent of some type on the rubber grommet where the throttle cable goes into the carb. They said water gets in there and causes the problem. No experience with the problem just writing what I read.
