Ok guys, need your help on this one. My dad's buddy has a Sportsman 500 6x6. I don't know what year it it. I think it may be an 02 or 03? He wants me to perform the regular maintence on it for him cuz our local dealer shut down last year. I would assume that the specs on the engine are the same as my scram. Adjust the valves (.006") every 100 hours, change oil and trans fluid every 100 hours, It does use the same oil and trans fluid that mine does too, right? I would assume also the the coolant needs to be changes every 2 years as well. What about the differential? How much fluid do I need for those? Should I have him get the Polaris stuff or will a synthetic GL5 80W-90 work? Where should I be looking for grease zerks on this beast?, How many of them? (If anyone has the page in the manual where it shows the location of the grease zerks could scan and email it to me I would appreciate it) How about the belt? I will see if he has had any problems with it, but what is the spec on the belt? Do the 6x6's have EBS??? I should also probably get a new fuel filter and crankcase breather filter as well. I will check the air filter too. Do the K&N'ds for the normal sportsman 500 work for the 6x6 as well? Are these all shaft drive? Or is there a chain that I need to adjust? Anything else I should check or change? Thanks guys

i owned a SP6X6 a few years ago.

i don't know the ans to your questions though.

i think that info can be found in the 6X6 Owner's Manual.

mine was shaft drive up front and chain in the rear.

i really thought i would get some good use out of the box but it was just too small and top-heavy tipsy when filled...i sold it.
