I have a new 600 sportsman, and I think the engine has a upper end knock, really noticible at idle. The dealer says it's the normal sound for the 600, but I think it sounds like it's going to throw a rod. Maybe it is the normal sound I haven't heard another one running. Anyone care to comment?

Just the combination of sounds from the engine, clutches and pulleys in the transmission. It, and the 700, have their own unique sound to them. It's melody to my ears!!

Thanks for the feedback folks. I was just a tad put off by the upper end noise. I feel a little better about it now. Other than the noisy idle, it's a great little beast to ride. Plenty of pluck, especially low end. Thanks again.
