I have a 2000 Scrambler 400 and am concerned about the injector working properly. I have used 3 tanks of gas so far and the oil level has only dropped about a 1/2". Is this what you guys are seeing? I figured that the oil tank would need refilling after about 4 tanks of gas. At this rate a tank of oil will last all year. I wont stop premixing till I know for sure. Is it working right?? thanks. Same here. I bought a Xplorer a couple mnonths ago and have yet to add oil. I bought some "stankless" Polaris gold to put in when needed but haven't needed it yet.

My Scrambler hardly uses any too. Don't worry,it's OK. I've found with my snowmobile, I'll use approx. 1 litre of oil to about 20 gallons of gas. You've probably only used about 8 gallons, unless you've run right to reserve every time. That would work out with my theory to about 400ml. But I know the Scrambler doesn't even use that much. I think it's because it's a single cylinder (the snowmobile being a twin requires more oil), so I would guess if you filled it up you would need about 250ml. That I would consider to be completely normal.

If it hasn't blown up yet, what are you worried about?

I have been premixing since break-in. Didnt see any reason not to ride even if the injector was broke. It was concerning me though cause it doesnt use any where near the same amount of oil as when you pre mix. I thought it should have been close though. I guess not.

Hey Goober, I mean TheQuadMother,
He said he wasn't going to quit premixing until he knew. Do you know what premixing is? Polaris recommends premixing for the first tank to give the engine a double amount of oil to ensure proper lubrication during break-in. He's saying that he's still premixing until he's sure the injector system is operating properly.
