Default Need Advice: Foreman Running too lean, header pipe red??

My Foreman 450 is having a slight problem. The idle is very high and the header pipe starts to glow after awhile. How do you adjust this??

Thanks, need help bad.

Well, go for a run and check the plug. Most likely its running lean. Do you have a leak in the intake boot between the carb and the engine??? Could be the problem, you'll suck in extra air after the carb that way.

If fixing both of these doesn't solve the problem, there is an idle adjustment **** on the carb. Take off the cover for the recoil starter, look at the carb and you'll see the **** pointing down. I can't remember which way to turn it, but adjust it with the bike running and if idle goes up, start turning the other way.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I've tried to adjust the idle ****, but it seems stuck, but I'll work on it a little more.
