has any one tried that stuff that you put in your tyres to stop punctures . is it any good and how does it work.how much does it cost for a 25inch x9inch tyre

not worth the $, and if when you change tires it get everywere. Just buy a good 6ply tire and save the money. my 2 cents
You have to use a whole bottle per tire, thats like $40.

 

Chunky - Read the information from the other members. They are all correct. 32 oz bottle is 14 bucks and will do 1 to 2 tires depending on size ( bottle indicates 12 - 24 oz per tire )

Good - Will seal a small to medium hole.

Bad - Must deflate tire completly and remove valve stem to insert.
Gets every where when you change tires and when you are inserting if you are not careful.
Must make sure you do not get in valve stem ( can cause problems. )
STICKY.
Will cause unbalanced tire at high speeds ( liquid actually will stop flowing and remain in a constant
state at a speed of 34-42 MPH depending on tire size and amount of liquid. ) (( Density / Mass *
Volume over Pi ( 3.14 ) )) - This is how you calculate the speed in which the liquid will cease to remain
in motion inside the tire.

Do what I did - I bought 6 ply tires for hunting and slimed my 2 ply tires for trail / backyard riding...

I had some worn out tires on the Honda 4x4 and one had a slow leak. I Slimed it and it stopped the leak. I think for that purpose it was worth the money, I probably got another year out of the tires. I wouldn't put it in new tires for all the reasons that are listed. Expecially the high speed quads.

 

For the recreational rider, I would recommend Slime only if your tires are worn and you need a quick fix to get you through the weekend. But as a racer, I Slime my tires everytime I mount a new set. Theres nothing worse than getting your quad prepped for a race, driving out to the desert, starting a race only to DNF because a rock put a hole in your tire which could have been prevented. The vibration at high speeds isn't bad at all, its kind of like a necessary evil. Knowing the tires are going to last to the finish line is more of a priority than comfort.
