Wiseco .020 over
#1
New Wiseco (4574P2), .020 over (74.50 mm bore), 11:1 compression piston For TRX300EX Domed, clearance .0020 inches. (.051mm) i was wondering what it would take to install this piston. Installing this high compression piston in a 300ex would it require boring over the sleeve? Will it still be able to run on unleaded fuel? what will need to be replaced or done. Will you need to replace your valve springs, retainers, rockers, etc... What will I have to do, in order to properly install this piston.
300ex FMF powercore 4, A 400ex Carb, rear 400ex tires, holes in airbox, works shocks, blah blah blah blah...........
Also has anyone heard of an Amp Link and would like to describe the benifits of owning one of these.

if your cylinder is stock bore then yes you will have to have it bored. it will run on 93 octane but youd be better off either adding octane booster or just buying race gas for it. while you have the top end apart go ahead and check your rockers for wear. if you ever wanted a cam in this motor then now is the perfect chance to do it. if you change the cam youll probably need to get new springs and hard welded rockers to take the stress. go ahead and get a head gasket. dont try and reuse the old one. good luck on your build up

you will have to get your cylinder bored .020 over. the installation isn't that hard. go buy a service manual and you will be set. i usually just let the shop install and gap the rings on the piston when they have the cylinder. this would also be the time to put in a cam. don't expect to gain much power with just the piston. cam will comlement the piston. you don't need to change springs, retainers, seals, etc. by the way, do NOT put in hardened rockers with the stock cam. this rockers will shred the cam. the stock cam isn't designed to be ran with hardened rockers. however, SOME aftermarket cams require hardened rockers and heavy duty springs, others recommend non-hardened rockers like the stock cam.

if it was bored out already, it should be safe. i know nothing about the banshee. it may have new sleeve in it too but maybe you can go that far on the stock sleeve. i would post this in the yamaha forum so they can help you there.
