This will be my second race.I have my holeshots down good. The only prob is I get drained very quickly.I can ride hard all day long at my house we have a mx track 350 acres of trails.I can just ride and ride and ride as hard as I can all day.But as soon as I get on a track I am dead.I just get thrown around by the bike my hands come off the bard my feet come off the pegs.I got a good rest the night before at spageti for supper and had a good breakfast.I also drank lots of water. But I couldn't walk straight for like a week. What am I doing wrong??????*I have some pics from my last race on my web-site.

You can't let the quad work you, you have to work the quad. Start going to the gym and work out.

well the crazy thing about it is you could prolly go to that same track to practice and ride it twice as long as the race and not even be near as tired. its all nerves...... thats the way I was back when I racing bikes.... practice and 2 motos and I was TIRED! just gotta breath!! stay loose and relax..... it will come with time. I'm getting back to racing now on my quad. the first race will be august 6th. the quad scene seems a little calmer. anyways good luck

I wish i could say the qaud scene was calmer where I race. They have 3 classes A,B,C.Just like very where else. The gate can hold 30 qauds.Well every class the gate was full. The thing about it is the track is long so every one can spread out.Instead of being bunched togother. The only bad thing is the track was not designed for qauds. It was designed for 250/125 dirtbikes.80's can be toped out and not clear doubles. The track is very wide though and has a nice soft soil.It is top soil and mulch mixed togother.

where I race they have 7 classes and most of them are almost full.......when I raced dirt bikes there would be atleast 20 classes.....get there at 6:00am and leave at about 5:00pm. before one class get off the track another one is starting. so to me 7 classes seems really calm. later

I also raced for the first time last month. I thought that all the riding I did would prepare me for a race. At the end of each race, I could barely hold on and my whole body was on fire. I think the only thing that will help is experience and a lot of practice. I race again in 2 weeks, the only thing I want to do is do better than last time.

jeepin, try not to go 'all out' when you are racing. if you get the holeshot, stay at your own steady pace. don't go so fast that you wear out quick. square off the corners (stay inside) and don't let anyone pass you. easier said than done, I know, I race mx myself.

If you got the holeshots down than concentrate on the race. Smooth but fast. Don't race the other riders, race the track that's what will beat you. If you stay calm and try to hit the same lines every lap you can build a nice rytheme. Practice, practice, and when you think your done, Practice some more. Remember you have to learn to crawl before you walk. Goodluck!!!!!
