Default YFZ hit 58 mph in a 150 yards at 9.22 secs?

if anyone has a subscription to atv action i am sure that they read the article about the YFZ, 400 ex, and Z400. they told about the drag races and they said that they was racing approxmitley( or whatever) 150 yards. they said that the yfz stopped the watch and 9.22 secs at 58 mph. the Z at like 9.8 or something at 54 and the EX at 10.06 at 51. well i thought that was kinda slow, so me and my buddy went to check and see what we could get on our quads. i have a stock 88 250R with a fmf rev pipe and power core 2 silencer. my friend had his 400 ex with hot cams, k&n air filter, pro circuit pipe, and a high compression piston( or so he said). any way we marked 150 yards with his expensive range finders, i stopped the clock at 7.9 secs, and he stopped the clock at 8.2 secs. i thought that the YFZ was faster than that or are they just not telling us. has anyone raced a stock YFZ on a 250R or on anything else if so let me know how good or bad u did.

Those do seem to be slow, but I dont do 150yd drags. I did 660' or 220yds with my ex Predator on sand in 11.02, my V-force did it in 11.09. So for them to do only 150yds in 9.22 seems a little slow. Also I did 5.81 in 100yds with the Predator and 5.76 with the KFX700 on gravel.

Those times don't seem very fast. Hell my Rincon ran 100 yards in 6.5 seconds @ 45. 100 ft in 3.19 sec @ about 35 or so.

The YFZ is jetted very lean from the factory and that will add time. We did 5.7 seconds in 300' with a rejet. Took the spark arrestor out and did the cam mod and now run 5.5

yeah i thought that was slow too. i ran 200 ft in 4.6. i think that was kinda slow too. my "R" dont have any low end, but it is full of mid- range and top. i was on a dirt road didnt have much traction tires are a little over half worn. hey dirt dragon if u have the YFZ get a 150 yard time and see what the difference is from yours and the mag.

My R with a pipe, filter, and jetting goes 5.4 They yfz's that i have seen went 5.7-5.8 at the same track. (300ft) By the way the mags are always full of sh*t! everytime a new quad comes out they always say its beter than the last( even if it isnt) and they are all big pu**y riders.

Those times from the magazine seem very slow. Could just be me. I don't know. But those magazines are always full of b.s. anyway.
