Reverse over-ride, gone at last
#1
After my last ride I said I was going to do away with the reverse over-ride crap. I found a diode from from the purple terminal to the green/white terminal (band towards the green/white) and then unplug the purple wire going to the over-ride switch does it. And the reverse light still work like it should. This is on a 1998 SP 500. I understand this mod could be dangerous to some, but for me, it's the one thing I didn't like about this ride. Now I don't have to listen to the poping when i back up and have 4 wheel drive without looking for that damn button. Now I have the perfect wheeler!

It works. better yet, the two terminals the diode plugs onto are next to each other so the diode will reach without any added wire. I had to test it, so I backed up to a tree and it dug 4 holes! You could do the mod without a diode, just a jumper, but the reverse light would stay on whenever your in 4 wheel drive.
