Trailboss 2000 - engine cutout question
#1
I bought a used 2000 trailboss 325 this summer - generally speaking it runs great, but when I get near full throttle (about 3/4 full) under load, the engine tries to cut out.
I can go full throttle if I slowly work up to it and the engine isn't under any great load - i.e. I can open it up on a flat straight road and reach full throttle without problems, but should I gun it while climbing a hill it will try to cut out (sputter). Or if I give it full throttle from a stand still, it just sputters.
It's a tad dangerous for I've been on a few hill climbs where I lost power at the top of the hill and almost came tumbling back down. I can ride it all day without pushing it and have zero problems - but what fun is that!
When I first got it I did all the simple, basic maintenance (replaced the plug, replaced the air filter, changed the oil, replaced the fuel filter). I'm no mechanic, so I really don't know where to turn at this point. Fuel flow problem? jetting problem?
Thoughts?
Thanks!

I think I'm gonna start putting this in my sig, as I say it fixes a lot of Boss's problems:
Same sort of thing happened on mine. Long story short is that there was mud in the carb's fuel vent. It is the white/clear plastic hose coming off the carb body, and vents out extra fuel when the throttle is hammered. I blew out the line, and my boss has run great ever since.

PS: My dealer couldn't find this problem. And they got $80 from me. And I fixed it myself. Any Polaris dealers need a mechanic?
